Saturday - Day Three

Auntie and Miss Tarah had the babies well tended. While bed linens were washing, Auntie made her famous scrambled eggs for the Darlings! By the time Miss Tarah left, the darlings had been served Auntie's famous scrambled eggs, the sheets were in the wash and all seemed to be moving along ON SCHEDULE.

Auntie had decided to go to the parade and had to leave a little early in order to get there! It was 9:30 and the darlings had just gone down for a morning nap . . .

Abi got the memo,

So did Eleanor Grace.

Alas, Avery informed me that she couldn't read the memo and,

Riggs said he didn't have to read it if Avery didn't!

We started working on our house.

Eleanor kept trying to convince the Darlings that the pillow meant we should put our head on it! To no avail, Avery and Riggs were ready to p-l-a-y, and play we did.

Nana and PopPop returned from their visit to Nottaway around 3:30. In keeping with Avery's "I learned something new while you weren't looking" pace, she had discovered the Mardi Gras beads given to them at day school on Thursday. Now really, we're talking 13 months old here: 1) she knew that the necklaces belonged on her neck! 2) patiently sat on the floor attempting to get the necklaces on her neck and 3) was totally entertained by her own antics!!!!

The Darlings had a good afternoon nap (let's face it, they hadn't had a morning nap!!!) and when Nana and PopPop arrived, the Darlings were tickled to see them and play with them.

Dearie was exhausted! PopPop was prepared to grill steaks for dinner and once he changed out the propane tanks, his game was on. Fabulous dinner!! Nana made a wonderful salad and the baked potatoes were just perfect!

Another night of unknown sleep waited . . .
